James Gunn Wraps Production on SUPERMAN, Shares Thank You Message to Cast and Crew

Director James Gunn has concluded the production of its Superman film, and shared a behind-the-scenes photo along with a thank you message to the cast and crew.

Gunn said: “And that’s it. God bless our cast and crew whose commitment, creativity and hard work brought this project to life.

“I decided to make a film about a good man in a world that isn’t always that good. And the goodness, kindness and love I encountered on set every day inspired me and pushed me forward when I felt too exhausted to go it alone.

“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart. It was an honor. The destination was Superman, but the journey was the hard work, the laughter, the emotions, the ideas and the magic we shared together on set, and for that I will be forever grateful.”

I have no doubt that being a part of this screening must have been amazing for everyone involved. As a fan of the films Gunn has made over the years, I am confident that he will make a fantastic Superman film. It will be great to see the first footage of the film when it is ready to be shared.

Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way of life, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as antiquated.”

Superman will launch the theatrical portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025.
