First Teaser Trailer for AMC’s INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE Season 3, Based on Anne Rice’s THE VAMPIRE LESTAT

The first teaser trailer for the third season of the AMC series Interview with the Vampire was released over the weekend at San Diego Comic-Con and this season will focus on the second book in the series Anna Rice, The Vampire LestatThe teaser introduces fans to “Rockstar Lestat”, played by Sam Reid.

The season synopsis reads:

“Resenting his superficial portrayal in the trashy best-seller ‘Interview with the Vampire,’ vampire Lestat comes clean about his history in a way only vampire Lestat can: by starting a band and going on tour. Gabrielle.

Nicholas. Magnus. Marius. Those Who Must Be Kept. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, Fareed, and others we can’t tell you about yet on a sexy pilgrimage through space, time, and trauma. No Auto-Tuning. No Trigger Warnings. Everything feels amplified.”

Could one of these “others” be the vampire child Claudia? The character met her end in last week’s penultimate episode, but actor Lestat Sam Reid seemingly hinted that his spirit may come back to haunt his creator during an interview with THR, where he explained:

“Claudia will be the biggest mistake Lestat has ever made in his entire life, not the fact that she is alive, but the fact that she is dead. Claudia’s death will be the thing that will haunt him forever, and I wish he had saved her.

I don’t know if he knew he could do it, but the fact that he finally saw her look at him with a pure connection (and the two have shared a connection at multiple points in their lives) made him happy.

I think he’ll never get that image [of Claudia dying] out of her head, and I think what that also does is sets us up for a relationship with Claudia and Lestat’s obsession that’s pretty exciting.”

He continued:

“I think we have the potential to not let Claudia go, because Lestat hasn’t gotten any closure there, and he has a lot to atone for. He’s done some really terrible things, and I think a wonderful motivation for a character moving forward is shame.”
