The two leads of TWISTERS kissed in the film, but Steven Spielberg didn’t cut the kiss

While the recently released film The tornadoes It was a fun movie, it definitely wasn’t as good as the original. The characters in the original movie were just much more interesting and well-rounded.

When I was leaving the cinema with my wife, one of the first things she said was how the two main characters Kate Cooper (Daisy Edgar Jones (1977)) and Tyler Owens (Mr. Glen Powell) did not kiss. They created a romance, but the two never kissed.

Well, it turns out that the director of the film, by Lee Isaac Chunghe shot a scene where they were kissing, but thanks to the producer Steven SpielbergIt ended up on the cutting room floor.

During an interview with Collider, Edgar-Jones explained why it was cut, saying, “I think it’s a note from Spielberg, isn’t it? You know what that is? I think it keeps the movie from feeling too obvious, actually.

“I think there’s something really wonderful about it feeling like there’s a continuation. This isn’t the end of their story. They’re united by their shared passion for something.”

Powell added: “I also think this movie is not about them finding love. It’s about Kate getting back to what she loves, which is storm chasing.

“That’s what you have at the end of the movie. They share this thing, and his passion is reinvigorated, and his sense of home is reinvigorated.

“I think a kiss wouldn’t be the right goal at the end of the movie. And that’s a good note from Spielberg. It’s the reason that guy is still in this game. It’s amazing.”

Yes, it’s notes like these that are why “that kid” Spielberg is still in the movie game. Powell makes weird little comments like this all the time, and it amuses me.

In the film, “a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years now studies storm patterns on screens from the safety of New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi, to test a revolutionary new tracking system.”

It’s here that she meets Tyler Owens, “the charming, daredevil social media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his rowdy crew—the more dangerous the better.”

The synopsis goes on to say, “As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena unlike anything seen before are unleashed and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves directly in the path of multiple storm systems converging on central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
