Marvel Studios recently made the major announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will play Doctor Doom in the next two Avengers films, Avengers: Judgment Day AND Avengers: Secret Wars.
It’s crazy and it’s going to be really interesting to see where they go with this. There are a lot of crazy directions they could go to tell a good story. After all, Doctor Doom is one of the most complex characters in the Marvel Universe,
We know we’re going to have a great story because Jupiter AND Anthony Russo they will also return to the MCU to direct the two films!
Following the announcement and panel at Comic-Con, Robert Downey Jr. shared some photos teasing his transformation into the villain, along with a cryptic message.
Downey Jr. shared a photo on Instagram of himself holding the Doom mask, captioning the post with the words, “New mask, same job.”
As for what this could mean, this being Doctor Doom, it’s likely that he sees himself as a hero and the only one who can save the Multiverse!
The Russo brothers said in a press release: “Creating stories and exploring characters within the Marvel Universe has fulfilled a lifelong dream for us, and we’ve found a strong connection with audiences in every film we’ve made.
