Fans have long wondered if we will ever see a Marvel-DC crossover in the movies. The potential for that is better than ever with Kevin Feige at Marvel Studios and former Marvel director James Gunn he now runs DC Studios, but that’s still a long shot.
During a recent interview with Collider, Feige was asked about a possible crossover film that would bring together characters from the Marvel and DC cinematic universes, and he admitted that it’s something he’s thinking about.
Feige said: “I think about it every now and then, as any fan would. I don’t know when the hell it would ever happen, or how it would happen. But we’ve talked about it too long for me to say, ‘Never! We would never be able to do that.'”
“We’ll never say never, but no, no plans. I’ve seen paparazzi photos from the Superman set that looked great. So he’s focusing on that. We’re focusing on [Deadpool and Wolverine].”
It would be interesting to see what this collaboration would look like and what kind of film would come out of this partnership. While it could happen one day, we know it won’t happen anytime soon.
DC is just getting started under Gunn, and there’s an entire universe that needs to be created before anyone can even start talking seriously about a crossover between the two universes.
Gunn spoke about it last year, saying, “I think it feels like something that would happen in about 10 years. Not today, because we have a lot of other DC movies that we need to tell. But yeah, I think it could be cool.”
Do you think something like this could ever happen? Do you think it would make a great movie? What would you like to see?
