This week we will finally see Deadpool and Wolverineone of the most anticipated films in MCU history. Fans are hoping that the film will take Marvel movies in a new direction after a series of films and shows that have not been well received. I have a good feeling about the film and what comes next.
In this weekend Deadpool and Wolverine global press conference, attended by CBM, Marvel President Kevin Feige talked about how this third chapter ushers in a new narrative era for the MCU.
“Everything is fine [MCU] the film is important, and there is nothing better than a great film for a cinematic universe. The before and after?
I think a lot of people talk about the R rating and “Every [Marvel] Will this movie be R-rated after this?’ Of course not. But I hope that every movie after this embraces its own tone like ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ did and this team does.”
Then he added:
“Also, the ‘after’ is clearly…now that we have characters from the ‘X-Men’ world, the Mutants, that we didn’t have access to before.
So, this is the beginning of all this, and of all [movie] “Post ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ will be the era of mutants entering the MCU.”
It was a little predictable, but it’s nice to hear it confirmed. We’ll find out more this week when San Diego Comic-Con kicks off and Marvel returns to Hall H. Stay tuned for updates.
