Paramount+ has canceled its series adaptation of Alone after two seasons. But Amblin Television, Xbox, and 343 Industries are currently tossing the series around in hopes of finding it a new home.
Although I am a fan of the Alone video game franchise, this is one series that I didn’t really like. It could and should have been much better than it was, and I didn’t think it would last past season two.
A Paramount+ spokesperson said in a statement: “We are incredibly proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with the showrunner and executive producer. David Viennesehis fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber like Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their amazing work. We wish everyone the best for the future.”
343 Industries added: “We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who pushed the Alone series becomes a global success, and we remain committed to expanding the Halo universe in many ways in the future. We are grateful to Amblin and Paramount for their partnership in bringing our vast sci-fi universe to viewers around the world.”
In the second season of Alone“Master Chief John-117 leads his team of elite Spartans against the alien threat known as the Covenant. After a shocking event on a desolate planet, John can’t shake the feeling that his war is about to change, and he risks everything to prove what no one else will believe: that the Covenant is preparing to attack humanity’s greatest stronghold. With the galaxy on the brink of collapse, John embarks on a journey to find the key to humanity’s salvation—or extinction: the Halo.”
Alone stars Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) as Master Chief, Spartan-117 and Natascha McElhone (Californication) like Dr. Halsey.
