Ethan Hawke (Training day, Childhood), Margaret Qualley (Housekeeper, Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood), Bobby Cannavale (Homecoming, Nine perfect strangers) AND Andrea Scotto (Fleabag, All of us strangers) have signed on to star in the director’s film Richard Linklater’S (Disoriented and confused, Rock School, Childhood) latest project, a film entitled blue Moonwhich was acquired by Sony.
This will be the ninth collaboration between Linklater and Hawke, and filming will begin in Dublin, Ireland this summer. According to Linklater, who previously hinted at a long-term project with Hawke, “Robert, Ethan and I have been developing this story for over a decade and are thrilled and grateful that the time has come to bring it to life.”
Written by Robert Kaplowauthor of the novel Me and Orson Welles which inspired Linklater’s film of the same name, blue Moon depicts the final days of Lorenz Hart, a member of the hit-writing team Rodgers & Hart. The film is set primarily at Sardi’s Restaurant on March 31, 1943, the opening night of Oklahoma!which marked Rodgers’ first collaboration with Oscar Hammerstein II as Hart’s replacement.
