Here’s the trailer for an upcoming thriller titled The criticwhich has as protagonists Ian McKellen, Gemma ArtertonAND Mark strongIt looks like a good movie that tells an interesting and intelligent story.
The Critic was directed by Anand Tucker and is described as a “delightfully dark and witty thriller set in 1930s London.”
In the story, “When the city’s most feared and ruthless theater critic, Jimmy Erskine (McKellen), suddenly finds himself in the crosshairs of the Daily Chronicle’s new owner, David Brooke (Strong), he makes a sinister Faustian pact with struggling actress Nina Land (Arterton), who is desperate to win his favor.
The cast also includes Ben Barnes, Alfredo Enoch, Romola GaraAND Lesley Manville. The critic will be released in select UK cinemas on 13 September 2024.
