Four years ago, 52 episodes of an animated series based on the classic toy line Micronauts have been completed. The series was co-created and written by Eric Rogersand recently provided a crazy update on the project.
She reveals that the series has been completed and she has absolutely no idea what happened to her or where she is. Hasbro has the rights to the project and for some reason shelved it.
Responding to a fan on X, Roger said: “What cancelled project do you wish would have happened? MICRONAUTS. 52 fully produced half hours. I was the co-creator/EP/head writer. Ask Hasbro what they’re doing with it because no one there will tell me. We shut that last episode down in January 2020.”
A fan responded asking for clarification on what he meant by “fully produced,” and Rogers clarified, saying, “All set, ready and ready by JANUARY 2020, man.”
He continued in frustration, “By the way… I just wish ONE PERSON from Hasbro would tell me what their plan is. It’s been almost 5 years since we finished.
“Tell me you boxed it up. It’s a tax deduction. You lost it on the train like the Beastie Boys did with HOT SAUCE COMMITTEE PT 1. But… nothing? Yeah… no.”
Really crazy!
Micronauts was introduced by Mego Corporation in the late 1970s, inspired by Takara’s Japanese Microman figures. Micronauts featured a wide range of interchangeable action figures, vehicles, and playsets, all scaled up to a 3.75-inch figure size.
The line is known for its eye-catching designs, magnetic, modular construction, and imaginative space themes.
Boulder Media, which was a subsidiary of Hasbro Studios at the time, began developing a Micronauts animated series in 2018. However, in 2020, Entertainment One acquired Hasbro’s production wing, before it was sold to Lionsgate in 2023.
