The next movie The tornadoes It does not include any of the characters from the original film, but there is a connection to the original film with a cameo by the deceased The Paxton Accountthe son of James Paxton.
James Paxton confirmed his cameo during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, in which he plays a small role, that of a “disgruntled motel guest.” Paxton revealed in the interview that it took him a while to actually get around to appearing in the film.
Paxton said, “Well, initially, my agents sent me an audition and I had to read for a role. A little while went by and I didn’t hear anything, so I made peace with, ‘Oh, maybe this isn’t going to work out.’ And then, I heard from my team that they were offering me a role.”
He continued: “It took me a while to process it, considering the context of my father and his importance in the original and his absence.
“It’s an emotional thing. It’s not something I could decide right away, it took a while to just process, just the magnitude of it.”
He ultimately agreed to take the role to honor his father and also to bring the spirit of the original to the set of the sequel.
Paxton continued: “I wanted to be a conduit for his spirit and encourage everyone involved in this production to succeed, because I know he would be.
“I wanted to do something that really honored his presence in this new chapter and really did something for him. And I realized there are a lot of great people involved in this that I would love to meet. And so it ended up feeling like the right thing to do, to be there representing Dad.”
The film is the sequel to the 1996 film Tornadoand is described as “an adrenaline-pumping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous and destructive forces.”
The movie stars Daisy Edgar Jones (1977) as Kate Cooper, “a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens from the safety of New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend Javi to test a revolutionary new tracking system.”
This is where he meets Tyler Owens (Mr. Glen Powell), “the charming, daredevil social media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his rowdy crew – the more dangerous the better.”
The synopsis goes on to say, “As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena unlike anything seen before are unleashed and Kate, Tyler and their competing teams find themselves directly in the path of multiple storm systems converging on central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.”
