THE ACOLYTE creator knows how Darth Plagueis training Palpatine connects to the series and wants to explore it

Star Wars fans have always wanted to see Darth Plagueis, Palpatine’s former master, in a live-action project, and if The Acolyte The showrunner will continue to tell her story in future seasons, this is a character she wants to play with.

During an interview with Nerdist, the showrunner Leslye Promontory he was asked if he knows the story from The Acolyte Palpatine links Plagueis’ training to this, and Headland responds:

“Yes, I do. If I keep telling this story, I know how I want it to end. And I would say I think it’s pretty complicated and messy.”

While Headland does not confirm that Plagueis will appear in The Acolyte series, these comments will surely excite some fans who have been eagerly awaiting the appearance of the Sith villain sooner or later.

The reveal of Qimir as the Sith villain in the series has fans speculating that Plagueis’s master, Darth Tenebrous, will show up in the upcoming season finale. But we’ll have to wait and see.

Speaking previously about the future of the series, Headland said: “I would say there are four or five big mysteries and plot points that need to be addressed in season two, but until we have a proper recovery, I fear that spending a lot of time in that world, especially being in a period where I’ve been working on this project for so long that I’m honestly exhausted by its release, could lead to people jumping straight into, ‘Okay, season 2…’

Headland explained: “It’s probably more that I know what needs to happen and I know what the character development needs to be to achieve the plot points and character points for a second, third or fourth season. So I’m looking forward to working on that, but I haven’t done that at the moment.”

Darth Plagueis was known for his deep understanding of the dark side of the Force and his quest for immortality. His mastery of the Force was so advanced that he could influence midi-chlorians to create life and even prevent death.

This knowledge and power made him a key player in the Sith’s long-term plans to overthrow the Jedi and dominate the galaxy. Plagueis trained Darth Sidious, who would later become Emperor Palpatine, passing on to him his vast knowledge of the dark side and his vision of the Sith’s future.

Darth Plagueis met a tragic end at the hands of his own apprentice, Darth Sidious. Believing that his master had become too powerful and a threat to his own ascendancy, Sidious betrayed and killed Plagueis in his sleep. This act of betrayal was emblematic of the Sith tradition of apprentices ultimately overthrowing their masters.
