Fans expected everything for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to neatly conclude the trilogy, as we knew the writer and director James Gunn was moving to head projects at DC, including his own Superman.
But Vol. 3’s post-credits scenes painted a more optimistic picture of the Guardians’ future, including the MCU’s explicit title card, which read “The Legendary Star-Lord Will Return.” It doesn’t get much clearer than that! But we have no idea when that will come to fruition.
When TMZ recently asked Pratt about his character’s possible return to the MCU, he explained:
“Well, there’s always a chance. But obviously I couldn’t screw it up here on the sidewalk with you. I could, but I better not. Hell, I just have to let the fans and people like James decide. I’m not exactly sure. I’m not really sure.”
It looks like Pratt hasn’t heard what the plan is. Although, if he had, he wouldn’t have told us! We’ll just have to wait and see how it ends with Star-Lord, as well as the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy.
