Netflix has canceled a new fantasy series that was being developed by the producers of the hit German-language mystery thriller series Dark.
The show is titled The Reality of Grimmand it was scrapped even though production was already completed. So, they have a completed show that is now on the shelf.
No plot details were given, but it was initially described as a “fairytale urban fantasy thriller,” so it may have drawn heavily from the Brothers Grimm, 18th- and 19th-century folklore writers.
There is no reason why the series was scrapped. But maybe it was so bad that they didn’t want to publish it.
The series was created by Up to Kleinert (The Samurai) and Dog Haus’ Erol Yesilkayawho is a producer and screenwriter. The cast included Mr. Wanner, Patrick Isermeyer, Eidin Jalali AND Dennis Schuerman.
Dark It was a great show, however, and was one of Netflix’s first overseas hits, paving the way for other projects like Squid Game AND Lupine.
If you haven’t watched Dark and yet, you should. In the story, “When two children disappear in a small German town, its sinful past is revealed along with the double lives and fractured relationships that exist between four families as they search for the children.
“The mystery drama series introduces an intricate puzzle full of twists and turns that includes a web of curious characters, all tied to the city’s troubled history, whether they know it or not.
“The story includes supernatural elements that hark back to the city itself in 1986.”
