DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE Director Explains How the Film Is Similar to Early MCU Movies

Deadpool and Wolverine will mark a big change for the MCU, and with Deadpool entering the universe, it will be interesting to see what happens to the future of Marvel movies after his arrival and his adventure in the multiverse.

But also Kevin Feige He teased that the film will have implications for the MCU, with the film’s marketing largely based on characters and personality, rather than plot or “the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

This certainly helps Marvel in wanting to keep the big overall story under wraps. When it comes to the story, the director by Shawn Levi compared the film to some of the previous Marvel films. He explains that the stakes of this film are rooted in the character.

Levy explained: “The character stakes are bigger than the overall stakes of the MCU.”

This is what makes Marvel movies better, when the story and characters come before how things are going to set up the future of the franchise. This is one of the reasons why the Guardians of the Galaxy the movies are so beautiful!

For example, in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3Rocket Raccoon’s story was more important than anything else that was happening in the larger universe or the multiverse. It was a fantastic, intimate story with tons of emotion.

Many of the early Marvel films focus primarily on the characters, so it’s nice to find that this is the direction that Deadpool and Wolverine is taking.

In Deadpool and WolverineDeadpool finds himself dealing with the loss of his loved ones while his home world faces an existential threat. Then, he finds himself teaming up with Wolverine to help save it. It’s a simple premise, but it’s sure to be a wild ride and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.

Deadpool and Wolverine will hit theaters on July 26th!
