Head of Streaming, Television and Animation Marvel Studios Brad Winderbaum he anticipated some details on Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-ManMarvel’s upcoming Disney+ animated series. The show is set before 2016 Captain America Civil Warbut with one notable fundamental difference.
Instead of going back to his house to see Tony Stark at his house, when he walks in the door it is none other than Norman Osborn, chatting with his Aunt May.
And just as meeting Tony put Peter in more of a spotlight than the boy needed, having Norman as a mentor “sends his life on an unexpected trajectory that puts him in contact with a lot of unexpected characters in the Marvel Universe.”
Winderbaum dropped those details last month, and now we have more. In a recent interview with the Official Marvel Podcast (via CB), Winderbaum said:
“There are twists and turns in that show that are surprising, but the real strength is the ensemble, it’s the neighborhood.”
He noted that Jeff Trammel previously had a similar dynamic in Craig of the creek.
“He amplified that significantly by playing with characters like, not only Peter Parker, Nico Minoru, Lonnie Lincoln, my favorite, Harry Osborn, and others who round out this cast of teenagers.”
The series’ voice cast includes Hudson Thames (What if…?) like Peter Parker, Eugene Byrd (Spidey and his amazing friends, 8 Mile) like Lonnie Lincoln, Song of Grace (Make fun of) like Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy (Hannibal) like Otto Octavius, Kari Wahlgren (Rick and Morty, the movie) like Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, Pokemon Master Journeys: The Series) like Harry Osborn. Also includes Charles Cox like Matt Murdock / Daredevil along with Paul F. Tompkins like Bentley Wittman / Wizard.
Can’t wait to watch this series?
