Sony Classics has released the trailer for Jason Schwartzmanthe next movie of Among the Templesan independent, deadpan comedy about a singer in a crisis of faith.
During this crisis, her world is turned upside down when her elementary school music teacher (Carol Kane) re-enters his life as a new adult Bat Mitzvah student.
The film is described as “a rare, offbeat comedy, buoyed by lively but heartfelt performances from the cast. Jason Schwartzman and Carol Kane are perfect as our lovable leads, while the rest of the film is peppered with an all-too-funny cast…”
The film “revels in fast-paced misadventures, but is carefully guided by a warm heart and the loving embrace of human relationships.”
I had the opportunity to see this film at Sundance and while it is a good character study, it is not a film for everyone, but it might be worth a look.
