Daredevil: Reborn It is one of the most anticipated releases of the Marvel series as it will once again see Charles CoxMatt Murdock and Vincent D’OnofrioWilson Fisk face off in a new story. But this time things will be different.
Things have evolved into something more and the old rivalry between Murdock and D’Onofrino “is no longer enough” as the story progresses.
According to Marvel’s head of television, streaming and animated production Brad WinderbaumThe new series will present a completely new “political” perspective on the bitter rivalry between Daredevil and Kingpin.
During his guest appearance on The Official Marvel Podcast, Winderbaum compared the show to X-Men ’97: “Daredevil is amazing. It’s similar in some ways to X-Men ’97 because it’s reviving something that fans love. But it’s taking it in a new direction.”
He went on to tease how things have changed, saying, “These characters have matured, the universe is different than it was. Things have changed, society has changed. Matt and Wilson have changed.
“And their characters are going to collide in ways they’ve never seen before. It’s not enough to just try to kill each other anymore. There’s a whole game of politics at play.”
I love the sound of it all! I just hope it was executed as well as possible in terms of script and story.
The new series is said to be inspired by Kingdom of the devil plot, which explores the power dynamics between the Kingpin and the vigilantes who oppose him. The story revolves around the power struggle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, who becomes mayor of New York City.
In this story arc, Kingpin uses his newfound political influence to launch a crackdown on vigilantes, making their activities illegal. This leads to a fierce confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin, with the latter using all of his resources to hunt down and eliminate Daredevil and his allies.
Vincent D’Onofrio previously spoke about the project, saying, “It brings a lot of great storytelling and all the collateral history that happened in those original three seasons. So now we can start this Born Again situation with all that history behind it and the outcome of all that history. So we’re all talking about Daredevil: Born Again in those terms now.”
The series also features the participation of Jon Bernthal like Frank Castle / The Punisher, Vanessa Fisk, Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, by Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, The Artist FroushanAND Clark Johnson in undisclosed roles. Deborah Ann Woll AND Elden Henson Karen Page and Foggy Nelson will also reprise their roles. Wilson Bethel reprises his role as Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye.
Daredevil: Reborn is currently in development by the directors Justin Benson AND Aaron Mooreheadwho worked on both Knight of the Moon AND Loki.
