HORIZON Star Michael Rooker Defends Western Saying ‘Get Over It’ [TikTok] “Crap” and “Learn to Watch Real Cinema”

Kevin Costner’S Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 It had a slow and disappointing start at the box office with its $11 million debut. It’s sad because the movie is so damn good!

Michael Rooker is one of the film’s many stars and plays the role of Staff Sergeant Thomas Riordan. TMZ recently reached out to him and asked about the film’s disappointing opening weekend and he urged people to leave TikTok and give “real cinema” a chance.

Rooker said, “This is real cinema, people. Get ready. We’re not used to that shit. We’re used to 90-minute movies. Everything’s 90 minutes. Give me a break.

“Get over this shit. Let’s watch a movie that actually tells a story where you get to know people and you learn to like them or hate them. It’s not all fast and fuzzy, cut and cut.”

Asked if part of the low number for Horizon It was because viewers have become “TikTok-ified,” Rooker said: “Of course. Of course they are. They need to get over that shit. They need to learn to watch real cinema, please.”

He added: “Stop procrastinating and go see the movie. You’ll like it. Go to the bathroom before you go in.”

I agree 100% with Rooker. People need to learn how to watch real cinema again because Hollywood keeps churning out mediocre stuff that many viewers continue to watch. It’s like people are being conditioned to accept mediocrity and that’s not good.

Costner, who invested $38 million of his own money in financing Horizon, spoke about the box office numbers, saying: “I’ve lived with movies and what happens to them on opening weekend.

“If we put that much pressure on ourselves, we’re going to be disappointed. I’m really happy that ‘Horizon’ is what it’s supposed to be, and that it will be for the rest of its life. And that’s really important to me in this process.”

He added: “Would I like it to be a big, big success? Sure, I would. My ego would like it; everybody would like it. But I’m happier that the film we’re talking about is the way I want it.”

Warner Bros. is ready to release the second Horizon film in the four-film saga planned for August 16. Costner, meanwhile, is starting production on the third film.

Horizon: An American Saga tells “a multifaceted, 15-year time span of expansion and colonization of the American West before and after the Civil War.

Told through the eyes of many, this epic journey is fraught with danger and intrigue, from the constant assault of the elements to interactions with the indigenous peoples who once lived on the land, to the determination and, in many cases, ruthlessness of those who sought to colonize it.”
