FANTASTIC FOUR star Ebon Moss-Bachrach talks preparations to star in the film: ‘I just looked at the rocks’

Fans are preparing for the MCU to bring us what we hope will be the best big screen version yet Fantastic Four that we have ever seen.

While we wait, the actors assigned to the leading roles are also preparing for what they hope will be a new page for Marvel films. Even though we’ve been in a rough patch for a while, the hope of these new characters and stories is pretty exciting, and one actor talked about how he’s preparing:

Ebon Moss-Bachrachwho has signed on to play Ben Grimm/The Thing in the film, has appeared previously Jimmy Kimmel Live! where he teased his costume and revealed that the cast had started a group chat. This week, the actor appeared in The daily show to promote the new season of his hit FX series The bearand joked about his preparation to play The Thing.

“I play Ben Grimm, who becomes The Thing, a man encased in rock. So yeah, I don’t know, I just looked at the rocks.

“I read a lot of comics. It is really cute. They gave me this Marvel Unlimited thing, so I can just go on my iPad and go to any comic that Marvel has ever published.”

It’s funny because these Marvel actors have to make the rounds about their other acting projects, and people ask them about their MCU movies, and they can’t really say anything.

They know nothing at first, and once they know, they can’t reveal anything. It’s nice though that he has access to the Marvel library and is taking advantage of it.

The main cast of the film includes Pedro Pasquale as Reed Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic); Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm (aka the Invisible Woman); Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm (aka the Human Torch); AND Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm (aka the Thing). Giulia Garner will play Shalla-Bal, a version of the Silver Surfer; AND Paolo Walter Hauser was cast in an undisclosed role.

Matt Shakman (WandaVision) directs from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff KaplanAND Ian Springer. Peter Cameron (WandaVision) also wrote something about the project. Production will begin this summer, with the film due for release in theaters on July 25, 2025.
