While fans anxiously await the second and final season of the animated series ArcaneNetflix has confirmed that there are spin-off shows currently in development!
These other projects will expand into the universe outside of the two fan-favorite characters Jinx and Vi. Season 2 will wrap up the story of these sisters, but there are more stories to explore and I’m happy to hear there’s more to come!
Arcane co-creator Christian Linke shared in a new video that the creative team always had an ending in mind for the animated series. Linke then mentioned what will happen in the future League of Legends franchising in animation.
He said: “The story of Arcane concludes with season two. Arcane is just the beginning of our larger narrative journey and our partnership with the wonderful animation studio in Paris called Fortiche.”
While it wasn’t revealed what other characters will be explored, Linke said they want to give similar treatment to more “champions” that Jinx and Vi received, “Their arcs have grown so much beyond our original dreams for them and we want to reserve the same treatment for multiple samples”.
He added: “So we’re currently working on our next TV and film projects, and hope to be able to share more later this year.
“We are still in the early stages of this process and these things take a long time, but we would like to share updates with you whenever we can.”
If you haven’t watched Arcane yet, it’s a series to watch! One of the best animated shows on Netflix. In the series, “In the cities of Piltover and Zaun, tensions rise as inventors, thugs, politicians and crime lords grow increasingly dissatisfied with the constraints of a ravaged society.
“With the situation on the brink of being untenable, two sisters steal an artifact of immeasurable power. Discovery and danger collide as heroes are born and bonds are broken. Will this power change the world? Or will it lead to ruin? This is the world of Arcane.”
When it comes to the story of Jinx and Vi, “In the midst of growing unrest between the wealthy, utopian city of Piltover and its squalid, downtrodden underbelly of Zaun, sisters Vi and Jinx find themselves on opposite sides of a brewing conflict about conflicting beliefs and arcane technologies.”
Arcane Season 2 will premiere on Netflix in November!
