Netflix has released a fun making of featurette for the director Richard Linklater’S (Boyhood, dazed and confused, School of Rock) next action comedy Hitman.
The behind-the-scenes video features interviews with the film’s cast and director as they talk about the story and offer details on the characters they play. There’s also some new footage included for you to enjoy.
Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters) stars in the true-crime assassin comedy as Gary Johnson, who is a fake hitman.
Johnson is “a part-time teacher who works as a mysterious gunman for hire. But there’s a problem with hiring him to free a cheating spouse or abusive boss: He works for the police.
“When he breaks protocol to help a desperate woman (Adria Arjona ) trying to escape from an abusive husband, he finds himself becoming one of his false personas, falling in love with the woman and flirting with becoming a criminal himself.
Linklater adapted the screenplay with Powell from to Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth. Linklater and Powell previously worked together on the 2016 film Everyone wants some and Netflix’s animated sci-fi drama Apollo 10 1/2.
The film has been described as “a real-life philosophical romantic noir comedy about the world’s most unlikely undercover agent.”
It looks like Hit Man is going to be a really fun movie! It will be released on Netflix on June 7th.
