THE BOYS showrunner teases season 4 will have ‘next-level scary shit’

When The boys returns with season 4, it will come with some of the craziest episodes we have ever seen! Creator and showrunner Eric Kripke says it will include episodes bloodier and more brutal than anything we’ve ever seen on the show before.

During an interview with GamesRadar, Kripke teased the madness by saying, “There are some images, for sure, in this season, that you’ll never be able to get out of your eyes.”

So it will be fun! She went on to talk about the development of this next chapter of the story, saying, “We never had conversations in the writers’ room like, ‘Okay, how do we top last season?'”

He continued: “We ask ourselves, ‘What is the next layer of their psychology and their traumas and their problems?’ That gets harder every season. We’re digging really deep into these people, and you have to be really disciplined about digging even deeper.

Kripke goes on to talk about Homelander and how his emotional state will lead to one of the scariest episodes they’ve ever made.

He explained: “He’s a dense psychological snake’s nest of neediness and vulnerability and self-hatred, and he’s going to deal with all of that in some pretty difficult ways.

“There’s an episode this season that might be the scariest we’ve ever seen. I called Antony after looking at the dailies and thought, “Wow, man, this is some next level scary stuff.” And not only because he is violent, but also because he is deranged. It’s a delight.”

Well, I can’t wait to watch and experience what he’s talking about here!

In season four, “The world is on the brink. Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscular thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating her power.

“Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son and his job as leader of the Boys. The rest of the team is fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they must find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

Kripke previously teased that this season “could be the craziest thing we’ve ever done? Like I really can’t believe we got away with it.

The series is the protagonist Carlo Urbano, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Colby Minifie, Claudia Doumit, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, AND Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

The eight-episode season will release three on June 13, followed by a new episode each week, ending with the epic season finale on Thursday, July 18.
