The trailer for VENOM: THE LAST DANCE appears to reprise the post-credits scene from SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME

There was an interesting scene in the recently released trailer of Venom: The Last Dance which appears to reenact the events in the post-credits scene Venom: Let it be Carrange AND Spider-Man: No Way Home.

In the Let there be carnage post-credits scene, Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) was transported from his universe to Earth-616, which is the Marvel Cinematic Universe and there was a new report that Spider-Man and Venom showed interest in him by licking the television screen.

This seemed to set the stage for a face-off between Spider-Man and Venom. Then there were the post-credits of No way home which featured Eddie and Venom in a bar on Earth-616 and in the scene, Venom left a piece of himself in that universe before Eddie suddenly vanished and returned to where he came from.

Ted Lasso’S Cristo Fernandez he was the bartender in that scene. All of these events seemed to lead to Spider-Man meeting the symbiote Spider-Man 4.

But, in the trailer of The Last Dancewe see Chiwetel Ejiofor’s mysterious character at the bar with Fernández as he’s catching that lone piece of Venom, which basically ties in Spider-Man: No Way Homeof the post-credits scene.

This makes absolutely no sense, but that’s Sony Pictures for you! They throw stuff out there and then don’t follow through with anything properly.

Perhaps Ejiofor’s character has the power to travel between worlds, which is not likely. It looks like Sony is backpedaling and making it so that Venom was never actually on Earth-616.

I wonder if the creative team will even try to explain it? This is just a strange thing to do that leaves fans confused.

What are your thoughts on all this?
