MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE and TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES crossover comic announced

Masters of the Universe AND Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles they’re getting a comic crossover comic titled Greyskull Guardianships and was born from a collaboration with Mattel, Nickelodeon, IDW Publishing and Dark Horse Comics.

The description of Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull reads: “When the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stumble upon Krang and Shredder making a pact with an otherworldly ‘demon-wizard’ called Skeletor, things got pretty damn weird and ended up in ETERNIA!

“It turns out that when you mix Utrom’s mutagen with demonic magic you get a terrible purple poison… which has brought Eternia to the brink of chaos. So, Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo are teaming up with the Masters of the Universe to kick some bony blue ass. The only problem is…He-Man is missing in action.”

The series is written by MOTU veteran Tim Seeley (Masters of the Universe: Forge of Destiny, Masters of the Universe: Masterverse) and he said in a statement:

“As inevitable as the meeting between He-Man and the Turtles may seem, it took a while to get done! And now that it’s here, I have a huge pile of newly purchased trading cards and a bunch of pages for what is one of the coolest comics I’ve ever worked on.

“To say that Freddie and I approached this Dark Horse series with laugh-out-loud enthusiasm is an understatement. I can’t wait for you to read this.”

This looks like it could be a lot of fun! The art in comics comes from Freddie E. Williams IIwith the colors of Andrea Dalhouse (Space ghost) and letters from AndWorldDesign (Masters of the Universe: Revolution, Canto: A Place Like Home).

Williams II has already worked on comics like the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles trilogy with James Tynion IVas well as He-Man/ThunderCats.

Masters of the Universe/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles of Grayskull Issue 1 (of 4) will be available in comic shops on September 25th.
