Hulu has released a great trailer for the documentary Bratsa film about young Hollywood stars of the 1980s known as “The Brat Pack”.
The film was made by Andrew McCarthymember of the group, who called up his old friends to talk about their less-than-flattering nickname and how they came to think of it decades later.
McCarthy is seen in the interview in the trailer Demi Moore, Emilio Estevez, Rob LoweAND Ally Sheedyas well as Lea Thompsonwhich identifies itself as “Brat Pack adjacent”.
The film’s synopsis reads: “The feature-length documentary Brats explores the cultural phenomenon of films like St. Elmo’s Fire and The Breakfast Club that tapped into teenage angst and connected with young audiences in a way never before.
“The films gained a cult following, but the “Brat Pack” label would impact the careers of young actors in unexpected ways for decades to come.
“Director and fellow Brat-Packer, Andrew McCarthy, rose to fame appearing in films such as Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo’s Fire and Less Than Zero and wrote the New York Times best-selling memoir Brat: A Story of the ’80she goes straight to the source, reuniting with many of his fellow Brat-Packers – his friends, colleagues and former enemies, many of whom he hasn’t seen in over 30 years – to answer the question: What did it mean to be part of the Brat Pack?”
I’m really looking forward to watching this documentary. I grew up watching all the Brat Pack movies, including some of my favorites The outsiders, Pretty in pink, The breakfast clubAND St. Elmo’s Fire. Check out the trailer below and let us know your favorite Brat Pack movie in the comments.
Brats will be released on Hulu on June 13th.
