There hasn’t been a lot of enthusiasm from many Star Wars fans for this series, so maybe it will actually exceed expectations. I’m really curious about the story this series will tell and I hope it’s actually as good as what these critics and fans are saying.
Check out the first reactions below and tell us what you think!
THE ACCOLITE Episodes 1-4 are superb. A gripping murder mystery that evokes the detective tales of Twin Peaks and Matt Reeves’ The Batman. It matures like Andor by fully embracing and connecting thematically to the prequels. Seeing the High Republic in person does not disappoint. pic.twitter.com/N7csXdW2mG

I saw the first two episodes of #The Acolyte — I liked that it looked so classic @Star Wars feeling at once new, fresh and different from anything we’ve seen before. The action looked cinematic level. I’m so excited to see more! pic.twitter.com/lkOC5IPm4S

I’ve seen four episodes of #The Acolyte and, so far, it’s a *very* big winner. The cast of characters, the heavy emphasis on practical effects, the stunts, the way they explore what it means to be a Force user and how the Jedi Order operates – it all works well enough for… pic.twitter.com/l8SVNTvSEG

Four episodes of Star Wars: #The Acolyte And it’s a mixed experience. The lore hints at KOTOR’s potential, but the pace slows at times. While the fight scenes are engaging, they often feel out of place. I hope to see stronger performances and clearer narrative direction soon. pic.twitter.com/m5V0EZskoc

Star Wars: #The Acolyte It’s a DREAM for fans of The High Republic era and a new experience for everyone else. 4 eps in and it’s taking its time layering in the dark mystery. COMPELLING fight choreography and SUPERB performances by Amandla Stenberg and Lee Jung-jae. I’m thinking about it. pic.twitter.com/I0IRm1ZdNt

I’m not obligated to anything except “Star Wars”, #The Acolyte fly.
It’s an interesting, fun, character-driven mystery with real stakes you care about, strengthened by all the tweaks that make it Star Wars.

#The Acolyte it’s a blend of murder mystery with Star Wars charm. We’re 4 episodes in and it’s clear that this new timeline will add to the lore of the galaxy in BIG ways. Forced Kung Fu fighting is MAGICAL! JJ as Sol is the COOLEST Jedi since QUI GON! I can’t wait to see where he goes pic.twitter.com/STbdMUBBbFS

#Star Wars #The Acolyte gives me Kill Bill vibes. Each episode left me wanting more, in a good way. We’ve seen so much about the fall of the Jedi, but this show explores what we’re like as Jedi in peacetime, which is pretty fascinating. @Amandla Stenberg it’s exceptional! pic.twitter.com/67weNyvcdN

#The Acolyte it’s a blast. A gripping noir-style murder mystery in A Galaxy Far, Far Away with the Jedi as space detectives. Lots of world building and mythology fleshing out in the first two episodes, punctuated by some pretty gripping fight sequences. #Star Wars pic.twitter.com/NMEI9zMlqF

I think so #The Acolyte will do well with the fans. Especially those who want an easy entry point to new Star Wars stories.
Ironic, given the sheer volume of High Republic books/comics released in the last three years.

Really digging #The Acolyte across four episodes. Fresh storytelling in the unexplored era of STAR WARS. But it’s all about character, and Amandla Stenberg continues to impress as a former Padawan becomes involved in a mysterious murder. GREAT fight choreography, amazing new worlds. Big win! pic.twitter.com/DHUVPIYleL
