Apple TV+ has released a new trailer for Jake Gyllenhaalthe next crime thriller series Presumed innocentwhich comes from the producers David E. Kelley AND JJ Abrams.
The series is based on the novel of the same name by Scott Turow and the story is about a horrific murder that shocks the Chicago prosecutor’s office when one of them is suspected of the crime.
It looks like a very intense series and the trailer does a great job of building tension as Gyllenhaal’s character constantly denies killing the woman he was having an affair with. But the more things go on, the more guilty he seems.
The description reads: “This story brings to life our worst nightmare: that of an ordinary citizen facing conviction for the most terrible of all crimes.”
The gripping series “takes viewers on a journey through the horrific murder that shocks the Chicago prosecutor’s office when Chief Deputy Prosecutor Rusty Sabich (Gyllenhaal) is suspected of the crime.
“The series explores obsession, sex, politics, the power and limits of love, as the accused struggles to keep his family and marriage together.”
The story is also described as a “stunning portrait of one man’s all-too-human, all-consuming fatal attraction to a passionate woman who is not his wife, and the story of how his obsession tests everything he loves and appreciate. -including his own life.”
Gyllenhaal plays Rusty Sabich in the series and is paired with him Ruth Negga, Bill Campo, OT Fagbenle, Chase Infinites, Nana Mensah, Renate Reinsve, Peter Sarsgaard, Kingston Rumi Southwickas well as Elisabetta Meraviglia.
Presumed innocent is an eight-part limited series that will debut on Apple TV+ on June 12, 2024.
