Disney+ has released a fantastic new featurette that takes us behind the scenes of the upcoming series Star Wars: The Acolyte.
The video focuses on the character of Jedi Master Sol, played by Squid game actor Lee Jung Jaeand contains interviews with the show’s creator Leslye Promontorywhich talks about the process of choosing the actor for the role, as well as the co-stars Carrie-Anne Mosswho sings Jung-jae’s praises.
The show is also the protagonist Amanda Steinberg, Manny Giacinto, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Charlie Barnett, Dean-Charles Chapman, Carrie-Anne Moss, Margherita Levieva, Joonas SuotamoAND Amy Tsang.
The story is described as “a mystery thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of dark secrets and emerging dark side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.” The High Republic is set 100 years before the start of the Skywalker Saga.
In The Acolyte, “An investigation into a shocking crime wave pits a respected Jedi Master (Lee Jung-jae) against a dangerous warrior from his past (Stenberg). As new clues emerge, the boys travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal that all is not what it seems…”
The Acolyte will have eight episodes total, with Headland, Garcia Lopez and Kogonada directing the series’ episodes. The premiere is scheduled for June 4, 2024 on Disney+. Check out the featurette below:
