Warner Bros. will release the beautifully crafted documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story on September 21, 2024.
The film will then return to theaters for an encore on September 25, Reeve’s birthday, with an international theatrical release to follow at a later date.
This is an incredible, must-see documentary that focuses on the life and career of Superman actor Christopher Reeve. I saw this film at Sundance, it was a fantastic and emotional experience.

Co-CEO of DC Studios James Gunn revealed that he and co-CEO Peter Safran personally helped the film find its home at Warner Bros. He said: “I saw the beautiful documentary Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story a couple of weeks ago.”
He continued: It moved me. Peter and I knew DC Studios had to be involved and I am grateful to Peter and our WBD family of Warner Bros, HBO, CNN and Max for working so hard to acquire it. It’s a wonderful film, made by wonderful directors, not just for people like me who love Reeve’s work, but for everyone.”
The official synopsis reads: “Christopher Reeve’s story is a surprising rise from unknown actor to iconic movie star, and his definitive portrayal of Clark Kent/Superman sets the benchmark for the cinematic universes of superheroes that dominate cinema Today.
“Reeve played the Man of Steel in four episodes Superman film and played dozens of other roles that showcased his talent and range as an actor, before he was injured in a near-fatal horseback riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down.
“After becoming a quadriplegic, he became a charismatic leader and activist in the search for a cure for spinal cord injuries, as well as a passionate advocate for disability rights and care – all while continuing his film career in front of and behind the world. camera and dedicating himself to his beloved family.”
Directed by Ian Bonhote AND Pietro EtteguiThis film delves into the life and career of the man who made the world believe that “a man could fly.”
