The Marvel animated series YOUR FRIEND NEIGHBORHOOD SPIDER-MAN is “a cut from the Steve Ditko era of comics”

Some new details about Marvel’s upcoming animated series have been shared Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.

Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is set before 2016’s Captain America: Civil War, but with one notable key difference. “Rather than going back to his house to see Tony Stark at his house, it’s none other than Norman Osborn who’s chatting with his Aunt May when he walks in the door.

“And just as meeting Tony brought Peter into the spotlight more than the boy needed, Peter having Norman as his mentor sends his life on an unexpected trajectory that pits him against many unexpected characters in the Marvel Universe .”

Head of Marvel Animation, Brad Winderbaumtalked about the series in an interview with CB, and it sounds like the kind of show that Spider-Man fans will love.

Winderbaum said, “I mean, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man is nothing short of fantastic. I think it’s going to really surprise people. It’s very much like a Steve Ditko era cut of the comics.”

He went on to explain, “It’s Peter Parker in high school trying to make things work, taking care of his aunt, being completely broke and having to be a superhero. He’s essentially Spider-Man, and what Jeff Trammell, the creator of that show, did, which I think people will love, was build this set of characters around Peter that you fall in love with.

He added: “Likewise, just because it’s a long-form narrative, as those relationships come about as the stakes get raised in the first season, things feel really tragic and dangerous, and quite unbelievable. So I love that show.”

It looks really cool and I can’t wait to see how the project turns out.

The voice cast of the series includes Hudson Thames (What if…?) as Peter Parker, Eugene Byrd (Spidey and his amazing friends, 8 miles) as Lonnie Lincoln, Song of Grace (Make fun of) in the role of Nico Minoru, Hugh Dancy (Annibale) in the role of Otto Ottavio, Kari Wahlgren (FLCL, Rick and Morty) like Aunt May, and Zeno Robinson (My Hero Academia, Pokemon Master Journeys: The Series) as Harry Osborn. Also includes Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil alongside Paul F. Tompkins as Bentley Wittman/Magician.
