Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Blake Livelythe next romantic drama It ends with uswhich is a film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Colleen Hoover.
Lively plays Lily, a small-town girl who moves to Boston to start her own business. She ends up meeting Ryle, a neurosurgeon finishing his residency, played by Giustino Baldoni. Although the two get along immediately, they are looking for different things.
It ends with us tells the “compelling story of Lily Bloom (Lively), a woman who overcomes a traumatic childhood to start a new life in Boston and pursue her lifelong dream of opening her own business.
“A chance meeting with charming neurosurgeon Ryle Kincaid (Baldoni) sparks an intense bond, but as the two fall deeply in love, Lily begins to see sides of Ryle that remind her of her parents’ relationship.
“When Lily’s first love, Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar), suddenly re-enters her life, her relationship with Ryle is turned upside down, and Lily realizes that she must learn to rely on her own strength to make an impossible choice about her future.
Lively spoke about the film, saying, “Lily resonated with a huge amount of people, as the success of the book made clear.”
He added: “Stepping into the shoes of a character who has had such a significant impact is an honor to take on. I loved Lily. And I hope that love is felt by those who care about her like I do, and also by those who meet her for the first time in this film.”
Baldoni not only stars in the film, but also directed it. Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on August 9.
