Don Cheadle’S Armor wars the project has been in development for a long time. It was originally conceived as a series for Disney+, then would be reworked as a film.
Now we hear that Marvel is seriously considering abandoning the project. This news comes from an insider scooper @MyTimeToShineH.
Yassir Lester is writing the screenplay for the film, which will see Cheadle return to the role of James “Rhodey” Rhodes aka War Machine.
It was revealed in the Secret Invasion series that Rhodey has since been held captive by the Skrulls Captain America Civil War. Dominique Thorne she should also return as Riri Williams, aka Iron heart.
Cheadle will also be joined by Walton Gogginswho returns to reprise his role as Sonny Burch Ant-Man and the Wasp. There have also been rumors that Sam Rockwell he was in talks to return.
I hope they don’t cancel this movie because I think there’s a really cool and interesting political thriller type story to tell. For now it’s just a rumor, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens.
Cheadle previously teased how his character will be explored in the film, explaining that for the first time we’ll see what makes Rhodey tick.
He said: “The fun part is that we’ll continue to explore Rhodey and, in a way for the first time, see what makes him tick. We understand his physical challenges, but we haven’t really understood what makes him tick.” yet he delved a lot into her emotional and psychological sphere [challenges].”
