Anya Taylor-Joy only has 30 lines of dialogue in FURIOSA: A MAD MAX SAGA

The Furious Empress will be a character of few words in the director’s room George Miller’S Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga. Although the film is 2.5 hours long, Anya Taylor-Joy only has 30 lines of dialogue, according to The Telegraph.

The film’s story takes place over the course of 15 years, and that’s a lot of silent time. But there is a reason for the lack of dialogue. Miller explains that dialogue slows things down.

Filler explained, “The problem with dialogue is that it tends to slow things down, and film is a medium that’s often best enjoyed at high speed.”

This is especially true with the Mad Max movies! And we all know that even if there is no dialogue, the film will be strong and explosive!

There’s a 15-minute action scene that took 200 stuntmen 78 days to film and is said to be a pivotal moment for Taylor-Joy’s character.

Taylor-Joy offered some insights into the sequence and explained why it’s so important to the film and her character, saying, “George and I would have these great conversations about why this particular scene was so long.”

He added: “It’s because you see an accumulation of skill over the course of a battle, and that’s very important in understanding how resourceful Furiosa is, but also her grit.”

The actress continued: “It’s the longest sequence any of us have ever shot. The day we finished, everyone got a ‘Stairway To Nowhere’ wine!’”

In the film, “As the world fell apart, young Furiosa is kidnapped from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great horde of bikers led by the warlord Dementus.

“Crossing the Wasteland they come across the Citadel presided over by Immortal Joe. As the two Tyrants fight for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she scrapes together the means to find her way home.”

It’s also in the cast Chris Hemsworth, Tom Burke, Angus Sampson, Nathan Jones, Daniel Webber, Lachy HulmeAND Quaden Bayles.

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga will be released in theaters on May 24, 2024.
