Ryan Gosling says THE NICE GUYS didn’t get a sequel because of ANGRY BIRDS

Director Shane Blackthe 2016 film The good guys it was a lot of fun and received positive reviews. There was hope for a sequel, but regardless of how well the film was received, a sequel didn’t happen.

The film is set in 1970s Los Angeles and the story follows a down-on-his-luck private investigator, Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and hitman Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) who must work together to solve the case of a missing girl and the seemingly unrelated death of a porn star.

During their investigations, they uncover a shocking conspiracy that reaches into the highest circles of power.

In a recent interview with CB, Gosling was asked why a sequel never happened and he placed the blame on the animated film Angry Birds.

The actor said: “I think a lot of a sequel is decided by a movie’s opening weekend, and we started with angry Birds. AS angry Birds it just destroyed us. Angry Birds had a sequel.”

THE angry Birds the film had an opening weekend of $38 million, while The good guys it only grossed $11.2 million at the box office. On the same weekend, Neighbors 2: Sorority on the Rise opened at $21.7 million. Captain America Civil War it was also in its third week at the time and earned $32.9 million in its third weekend.

The good guys it had a lot of great competition and unfortunately got buried in the competition.
