Director Zack Snyder debuted with the first film in his Rebel moon movie series, Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire, last December, just before Christmas. It was the highly anticipated first chapter of a brand new story that Snyder put a lot of time and hard work into.
Unfortunately, it wasn’t as big a success as everyone hoped, but Snyder promises there will be a big profit with the second film, which arrives on Netflix this weekend. But this could just be the beginning.
In a new interview with RadioTimes (via GamesRadar), the Justice League Helmer said that while he thinks turning the Netflix sci-fi series into a four-part series “makes sense,” there could be an opportunity to make six films if they use a similar production process to the first two.
“Four or six films, depending… I guess the question is whether every time we make one of these movies we make two,” Snyder mused, referring to the fact that the first film was ultimately split into two – which were shot back-to-back – because too much story is revealed to fit into a single feature film.
If Netflix ends up greenlighting more sequels, Snyder tells him and his co-writers Kurt Johnston AND Shay Hatten I already have a story in mind “We are waiting for all of these films to come out, including the Director’s Cut.
“I’ll probably do this other little film in the meantime, and before I decide what to do with anything else Rebel moon movie. But yeah, I’m excited to do more of it Rebel moon movie, if it were in sight.”
Rebel Moon: Part Two – The Scargiver stars Ed Skrein, Djimon Hounsou, Fra LiberoAND Sofia Boutellaand the story sees former Imperium officer Kora and a handful of other surviving soldiers stand against the oppressive Motherworld to save their homeworld of Veldt.
Are you a fan of these films so far? Would you like to see some more films to complete the story?
