Tom Holland continues to wonder if he will return to the role of Peter Parker in the Marvel films Spider-Man 4and the actor offers a little update and explains what he doesn’t want the film to be.
When asked if he would want to play Spider-Man again, Holland told Deadline: “The simple answer is that I will always want to make Spider-Man movies. I owe my life and my career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. I will always want to do more.”
However, he went on to offer a “more complicated answer,” explaining that he wants to make sure the upcoming fourth installment lives up to the films made before.
The actor said: “We have the best in the business working for whatever the story is. But until we resolve this, we will have a legacy to protect.”
Holland continued, “The third movie was so special in so many ways that we have to make sure we’re doing the right thing.” story at the beginning.
She said: “This is the first time in this process that I’m taking part in creativity so early. It’s just a process of me watching and learning. It’s just a really fun phase for me.”
He went on to add what he doesn’t want to happen: “Like I said, everyone wants it to happen. But we want to make sure we don’t overdo the same thing.”
In this way Spider-Man: No Way Home ended without anyone knowing that Peter Parker is Spider-Man, which is a very new starting point for a very different kind of dynamic that could make for some interesting storytelling. Let’s hope they play it.
It was already said previously Spider-Man 4 will see Peter Parker fully transition into Spider-Man and leave Peter behind.
It was explained: “The idea going forward now is to give him a sense of independence. In his mind, Peter Parker is gone… but Spider-Man lives on.
“Since he’s lost or separated from everyone he’s ever loved, all he has left to do is be Spider-Man, whether the city loves him for it or not.
“And as the Spider-Man title continues to consume Peter’s life little by little, Peter Parker will fade into the background and continue to slowly fade from existence. This point in the story can be compared to Robert Pattinson’s Batman in The Batman.”
But it still feels so early in the process that, even if any of this is true, things could very well go in a completely different direction depending on who Marvel puts live.
Sam Raimi, Jon Favreau, Justin Lin, John Francis Daley & Jonathan GoldsteinAND Drew Goddard everyone was rumored to be up for the directing job, but nothing has been confirmed.
The film is expected to begin shooting later this year, in September or October. If this is true, things will start to fall into place for the film very soon.
