Paramount Pictures has screened the first footage from the upcoming sequel to its hit horror film Smile at CinemaCon recently and we have the first details about the film’s story to share.
Smile 2 will be directed by director Parker Finn, and the story centers on a pop star who finds himself terrorized by the death curse Smile.
The character of the pop star is played by Naomi Scott and the film shows us how her fascinating world of celebrity turns into a hellish nightmare.
After a few shots of the pop star’s performance, she’s in her dressing room with a man who barges in and gives her that creepy smile.
Then there are a series of shots featuring terrible things, and finally she is confronted by a child with braces who slowly approaches Scott and smiles at her. Scott thinks he wants her autograph and signs her shirt. This is the end of the trailer.
The cast announced for Smile 2 also includes Kyle Gallner (Smile), Rosemarie DeWitt (The ladder), Luca Gage (The White Lotus), AND Dylan Gelula (Dream scenario), next to Raúl Castillo (The army of the dead) AND Miles Gutierrez-Riley (The wild lands).
Smile 2 is scheduled to hit theaters on October 18, 2024.
