As you know, the end of Transformers: Rise of the Beasts set a Transformers/GI Joe crossover movies in the most absurd way, and they certainly did it without any kind of plan.
Well, this week at CinemaCon, Paramount Pictures confirmed that the film will be made and that the story idea is based on a storyline played out for the Hasbro brands in their comics published by Marvel in the 1980s.
This has also been confirmed Steven Spielberg he’s the executive producer of the new film, but I doubt he’ll offer any real input. I wish he would steer this movie in the right direction! But I think these franchises are too far gone to save unless they start the whole thing from scratch.
There’s no director attached to the project yet, but the idea for the film was developed by Rise of the Beasts director Steven Caple Jr., so there’s a chance it could return.
Transformer manufacturer Lorenzo di Bonaventura is getting back together with Marco Vahradian, Michele Baia, Tom De Santo AND Don Murphy.
Recently Lorenzo di Bonaventura was asked if we can expect to see the film, he said: “The truth is, I don’t know. I know that we will keep the promise we made.”
I know exactly what they have to do, but those guys who are responsible for running a major studio can’t figure it out and every decision they make is the wrong one.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously shared that they never really have a plan for this crossover, saying, “We don’t plan that far in advance. We react to what the audience reacts to, so in a way we can please them, but in a way it doesn’t seem fresh. We expect there to be some loyalty and for them to go on some sort of mission together.”
The fact that they say it out loud drives me crazy! It’s like they want people to know that they will fail at this.
The producer also teased the closest thing to a plan they have available, saying: “Like every other Transformers movie, the ingredients of the movie are humans and robots coming together to stop the bad guy. The Joes will be part of the ingredients now “. .”
He added: “We’re not going into Joe’s world, they’re going into our world. So if you think about it that way, I think that’s the closest thing to the plan that we have. Now we have to figure out the plot that we want to do, et cetera, but they will actively participate, if you will, some characters, in trying to stop the bad guy.”
Paramount Pictures needs real help with these franchises.
