Paramount Pictures is developing a new Avatar: The Last Airbender animated trilogy and will launch with Aang: The Last Airbender!
During last week’s CinemaCon, the studio announced that the film will follow Aang as an adult. They also revealed that they have cast Eric Nam AND Dave Battista in the movie.
Nam will voice Aang in the film and Bautista has been cast as the villain. They are united by Dionne Quan, Jessica MattAND Roman Zaragoza.
The film will be directed by Lauren Montgomerywho worked as a storyboard artist on Avatar: The Last Airbender and the sequel series The Legend of Korra.
The film project is set at Avatar Studios and the production is led by the creators of the original series Michele Di Martino AND Bryan Konietzko.
President of Nickelodeon Brian Robbins opened up a bit about the plans, saying, “We’re in the early stages of developing and exploring what we’re calling an entire Avatar Airbender universe.
He added: “Mike and Bryan are hard at work, and I think that universe will definitely include a theatrical film, an animation, definitely more TV series and probably more movies.”
Robbins concluded, “I think we’ll be ready very soon to tell the world what’s coming first, but we’re not at that point yet because we’re in the early stages of creative development.”
Aang: The Last Airbender hits theaters on October 10, 2025.
