The vampire ballerina horror movie ABIGAIL is getting great reviews!

The last few times I’ve been to the cinema to watch a film, after the trailer of the horror film about vampires Abigail plays, was met with audience responses about how stupid the movie is. I’m surprised by how many people say this Abigail the movie looks stupid!

Well, I have some news for those people… the movie is getting some damn reviews! Judging by what I’ve seen in the trailers, the movie looks like a blast! I think the film will provide incredibly fun entertainment with lots of blood, violence and humor.

Turns out that’s exactly what we’ll get when we watch the movie. I’ve included some excerpts of reviews and reactions below.

SlashFilm gives the film a score of 10 out of 10 and states, “Traditionally, films that are this delightfully raucous, gory (and I mean BLOODY) and silly are relegated to B-movie nonsense (not a bad thing, for the disco), but Abigail still embraces the excessive and elaborate gothic aesthetic of classic horror films.”

The review adds: “The result is an old-school vampire film with modern vibrancy and style and an absolutely fantastic film to watch with audiences. I’m sure there will be many who will think I’m overrating the film or exaggerating how good it is, but I honestly wouldn’t change a thing. Abigail is a perfect horror film and is already one of the best films of 2024. I promise.”

Pope of Whitlock & Pope gives it 4 stars and says: “Abigail cements Radio Silence’s place among the leading voices of modern horror, with a delicious hint of mischief that pays homage to the classics, sure to appeal to horror fans whilst being accessible to all.” mainstream audience.”

And they continue: “Judging by the reaction of my audience, this will be a monster success. Abigail is a joyous, bloody and incredibly funny piece of horror: a killer ensemble against a killer dancer, with gags, blood, twists, turns and fountains of blood. This sets the bar for popcorn horror in 2024. Recommended!”

Atom continues to write X: “Insanely gorgeous!!! The directors of Scream 5 and 6 return with a glorious amount of gore. A violent thriller with so much more. Triple it and multiply it by four. This isn’t just another scary movie, it’s one of the best horror movies ever! A fitting conclusion that sets up what comes next.

Cody Leach shared X: “Abigail is everything I want in a vampire movie: great characters, big laughs, and gallons of blood! The most fun theater I’ve had this year and I’m happy that this subgenre is making a big comeback. If you like The Lost Boys and From Dusk Till Dawn, sink your teeth into this one!”

Perri Nemiroff shared: “Abigail is MY movie. (And in general, Radio Silence’s increasingly staunch horror sensibilities align strongly with mine in every film they make.)”

He adds: “It’s a beautiful, blood-soaked moment. A clever twist on the vampire genre, full of wild scenes and gore, further fueled by an electric “perfect” cast. I can already tell this will be a frequent review for me.

Writer and podcaster Sharai shared: “Not to sound like a dancing mom, but Abigail just danced her way into my top 10 of the year.”

Space for GiGi from Scream writes: “When they said they used a lot of blood for this, they meant A LOT of blood 🩸 Abigail is truly an amazing time and one of the best theater experiences I’ve ever had! There’s action, jump scares, ballet numbers, laughs and did I mention lots of blood?”

The film comes from Radio silence management team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin AND Tyler Gillett (Ready or Not, He shouted), and the film is described as “a brash, bloodthirsty new take on the vampire movie.”

In the film, “After a group of would-be criminals kidnap the 12-year-old dancer, daughter of a powerful underworld figure, all they have to do to raise a $50 million ransom is watch the girl overnight. In an isolated villa, the kidnappers begin to diminish, one by one, and they discover, to their growing horror, that they are locked inside without a normal child.

The film also comes with a great cast that includes Melissa Barrara (He shouted franchising, In the heights) Kathryn Newton (Lisa Frankenstein), Dan Stevens (Gaslit, Legion), William Catlett (Black lightning, true story), Kevin Durand (Resident Evil: Retribution, X-Men Origins: Wolverine) AND Angus Cloud (Euphoria, North Hollywood). Alisha Weir (Matilda the Musical by Roald Dahl, Darklands) takes on the role of Abigail.

The film will be released in theaters on April 19, 2024.
