Fantastic full trailer for POOLMAN Directed, written and starring Chris Pine and a great cast

A beautiful full trailer for the film has been released Poolmanthe actor’s directorial debut Chris Pinowith whom he wrote the film’s screenplay Ian Gotler. Pine stars in the film alongside Annette Bening, Danny DeVito, Jennifer Jason Leigh, DeWanda wise, Stephen Tobolowsky, Clancy Brown, Giovanni OrtizAND Ray wise.

Pine shot this film in 2022, when the pandemic was still ongoing, and it will now be released in theaters starting in May. It initially premiered at the 2023 Toronto Film Festival last fall, but got terrible reviews (and even a few neglects) from most of the festival’s critics. Poolman is described as a stoner riff on classic noir Chinatown. It’s about a hapless dreamer and aspiring philosopher who spends his days tending the pool at the Tahitian Tiki condominium in sunny Los Angeles. When he discovers the largest water theft, he does everything he can to protect his precious city.

The trailer looks very funny to me. I like ensemble comedies and movies set in Los Angeles, plus Pine’s character reminds me of The Dude. Despite the bad press, I’m still intrigued. Check out the trailer below and watch Poolman when it opens in select U.S. theaters on May 10. I
