Dark and delightful trailer for the Murder Mystery comedy podcast series BODKIN Based on a true story

Netflix has released a fantastic full trailer for the comedy series Bodkin, which follows a podcast featuring a true crime murder mystery in Ireland. The dark comedy-thriller stars Siobhan Cullen like Dove, Robyn Cara in the role of Emmy, Chris Walley as Sean O’Shea, David Wilmot like Seamus, and Will Forte in the role of Gilberto.

The series is created, written and broadcast by Jez Scharf, making his first series after numerous previous shorts. He also co-showruns Alex Metcalf. With episodes directed by Nash Edgerton, Bronwen Hughes, Johnny Allan and Paddy Breathnachthe series is produced by David Flynn, Paul Lee, Nne Ebong, Tonia Davis, Barack and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Nash Edgerton, Alex Metcalf and Jez Scharf.

The synopsis reads:

“Bodkin is a darkly comedic thriller about a diverse group of podcasters (Will Forte, Siobhán Cullen, Robyn Cara) who set out to investigate the mysterious disappearance of three strangers in a picturesque Irish coastal town. Once they start pulling the strings, they discover a story much bigger and stranger than they could have ever imagined. As our heroes try to discern fact from fiction – about the case, their colleagues, and, most painfully, themselves – the series challenges our perception of truth and exposes the stories we tell ourselves to justify our beliefs or validate our fears.

Sounds like a great series. The story is right up my alley and I love Ireland, so I can’t wait to check it out. Netflix will debut the first season of Bodkin on Netflix on May 9, 2024. Watch the trailer below:
