Trailer for IRENA’S VOW about the woman who saved a generation of Jews during World War II

Here’s a trailer for a new drama set in World War II titled Irena’s oath. The film tells the powerful and extraordinary true story of Irena Gut Opdyke, who risked her life to save a generation of Jews from the atrocities of the Holocaust.

The film is said to be told “Through the eyes of a strong-willed woman” and will chronicle “the triumphs of the human spirit over a devastating tragedy.” In the story, “Nineteen-year-old Irena Gut is promoted to housekeeper in the home of a highly respected Nazi officer when she learns that the Jewish ghetto is about to be liquidated. Determined to help twelve Jewish workers, she decides to host them in the safest place she can think of: the basement of the German commander’s house. Over the next two years, Irena uses her intelligence, humor and courage to hide her friends from her until the end of the German occupation, hiding them amidst countless Nazi parties, a blackmail plot and even the birth of a child. Her story is one of the most inspiring of our time.”

It looks like a solid movie and was directed by Louise Archambault (Atomic sake, Familia). Movie stars Sophie Nelisse (Yellowjackets, 47 meters deep: without cage), Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible 2, Batwoman), Andrzej SewerynAND Maciek Nawrocki.

The film will have a limited theatrical release on April 15.
