While Chucky fans are waiting for the release of the second part of season 3, Child’s play Creator Don Mancini is making plans for the future of the long-running horror franchise, and that future includes a new feature film. Mancini spoke about his plans as a guest on the Scream Dreams Podcast, saying:
“Like anyone in this industry, I want to do more things. I mean, at this point, though, if it was just Chucky, I’d be totally OK with it. I have other things I want to do. I’m working on a new pilot that” I’m actually also in the early stages of work on a new Chucky movie. At this point my goal is to just keep working, whatever keeps me working, I’m very happy.”
You know, if I could live my whole life telling a story about a possessed doll that kills people, that would be awesome! Then there’s the fact that Chucky is more popular now than he ever was.
It will be interesting to see how the rest of the Chucky series plays out and what Mancini plans to do with the character in the new movie he’s making. Will the story continue? Will it be a completely new and independent story? It doesn’t provide any details, so all we can do is speculate. He once talked about a crossover with M3GAN.
