Trailer for Jerry Seinfeld’s UNFROSTED: THE POP-TART STORY, which he calls a “colorful, silly, silly comedy”

Netflix has released the first director’s trailer Jerry Seinfeldthe next movie Unfrosted: the history of the pop tartand speaking about the film’s tone in an interview with Total Film, Seinfeld said, “I don’t think anyone’s ever done this before. I feel like we’re ready for a colorful, silly, silly comedy.”

The movie looks fun! This looks like exactly the kind of live-action movie I expected to see Seinfeld make, and I think it will provide some enjoyable entertainment!

Not frosted it is billed as “a story of ambition, betrayal, sugar and menacing milkmen”. The story is set in 1963 Michigan and will “see how sworn cereal rivals Kellogg’s and Post race to create a dessert that will change the face of breakfast forever.”

The film has an ensemble cast that includes James Marsden (Sonic the Hedgehog 2), Melissa McCarthy (ghost Buster), Jim Gaffigan (Linoleum), AND Amy Schumer (Life and Beth). They will be reached by Cristiano Slate (Doctor Death). Jack McBrayer (Hello, Jack! The show of kindness), Tom Lenon (Reno911!), Adriano Martinez (iGilbert), Bobby Moynihan (Saturday night live), Max Greenfield (The neighborhood), AND Sara Cooper (Sarah Cooper: It’s okay).

Hugh Grant he plays cereal mascot Tony the Tiger in the film and, speaking about working with the actor, Seinfeld said:

“They’re all so talented and funny but, honestly, the biggest thrill of the whole thing was Hugh Grant. He’s so damn funny. You should have heard us screaming at each other on set. I was telling him, ‘You don’t know anything about comedy. You just know how to be funny in a pub. Here in America, we have to really have fun.” He would yell back, “I know a lot about comedy!” It was one of the great gifts of having accomplished all this.”

The film is scheduled for release on May 3rd and I’m really excited to watch it! Check out the trailer below!
