THE OFFICE showrunner Greg Daniels teams with Michael Koman to create a series set in THE OFFICE universe

The office was a fantastic series that ran for nine seasons from 2005 to 2013, and has continued to remain a fan favorite that we’ve rewatched over the years, and wondered if we might even revisit. Showrunner Greg Daniels he’s hinted over the years that while the series was wrapped up neatly, if an idea were to come along that made sense for a sequel series, reboot, or whatever, he might be open to it. Now he has confirmed that he will work on a series set in the same universe, and with which he is collaborating Nathan for you co-creator, Michael Koman to do it.

Daniels and Koman would serve as co-creators on the potential series, which has not yet been greenlit to series and is still in development at Universal Television. It’s not a reboot of The office but it’s set in the same universe, which means it will probably be set in a different office with all new characters.

Daniels opened a development room in January 2024 to begin work on the next iteration of NBC’s hit mockumentary sitcom.

As co-creator of Nathan for You alongside Nathan Fielder, Koman is no stranger to television that blurs the lines between fiction and reality. Koman’s other credits include Saturday Night Live, The Colbert Report, What to Do with John WilsonAND Late Night with Conan O’Brien, for which he won an Emmy Award. Most recently, Koman served as a writer and co-executive producer Ragazze5Eva.

I would definitely watch another series set in the world of The office! I hope that happens, and I hope it’s great.
