Some new rumored details have emerged Deadpool and Wolverine and involve Cassandra Nova’s villainous role in the story along with an interesting twist on the multiverse.
Emma Corrin is taking on the role of Cassandra Nova in the film, who is Charles Xavier’s evil twin sister, and will cause some serious trouble. Possible SPOILERS ahead!
According to Inside Scooper @Cryptic4KQual this version of the character will be “faithful and true” to the comics. She is described as “evil and twisted [and] a really crazy villain.” It is also shared that Cassandra “has not [regard] for life and is a truly formidable opponent.”
Another thing that was revealed is that Magneto’s helmet is mentioned as a means to fight against her and her telepathic abilities. But, unfortunately, she’s already “there.”
Scoop Daniele Richtmann also shared some additional details about the film and how the story will introduce a new concept to the MCU. It is explained that there is a specific being in each universe and without him their respective reality will die.
This is a concept introduced into the comics by writer Jonathan Hickman. It is explained by CBM that when he “brought Molecule Man back to life. The Beyonders created him as a singularity in every reality, giving the former villain the function of a “bomb” that would destroy his respective universe if he died.
In essence, “Molecule Man became the default origin of the Incurisons, with Doctor Doom later collecting his variants to use as a weapon against The Beyonders.”
For those of you who aren’t familiar with Cassandra Nova, she is attacked by Charles Xavier in the womb, only to survive with the goal of getting revenge on him. She hid in her brother’s body for years before replicating his DNA blueprint to get a body of her own. Yes, she is a strange character but one who will fit perfectly in the Deadpool sequel.
Cassandra Nova made her Marvel Comics debut in New X-Men #114 in 2001. She was created by Grant Morrison AND Frank Enough and preys on mutants, and his goal is to use his crazy powers to wipe out all mutants. At one point, she was responsible for the deaths of 16 million mutants through the destruction of Genosha.
In the comics, Cassandra Nova is a “Mummudrai”, a malevolent spirit considered equal and opposite to a person in Shi’ar culture. She emerged as a result of a cosmic event involving Charles Xavier, taking physical form in the womb as his “twin”. Little Charles instinctively recognized her as a threat, leading to a harrowing battle that ended with her mother aborting Cassandra Nova.
Surviving as a mass of cells in a sewer wall, Cassandra Nova managed to rebuild a body for herself, all while plotting her ultimate revenge on Charles Xavier. Her revenge included taking her place and orchestrating the horrific genocide of 16 million mutants by unleashing giant sentinels on the nation of Genosha.
It was also previously rumored that Cassandra Nova would appear Deadpool 3 it will be a faithful adaptation of the comics. This means we can expect him to wear a bald head, a white shirt, a corset, and a brown trench coat paired with high-waisted tan pants and a brown belt. I think there was a shot of him from behind in the Deadpool and Wolverine trailer.
Another rumor says that a chase scene was filmed in the UK, with the location designed to look like New York City. In this scene, Nova was presumably chasing Deadpool and Wolverine, using her portals as transportation.
In the film, “After facing some professional setbacks while going through a midlife crisis. Wade Wilson decides to officially retire Deadpool and becomes a used car salesman. But when his friends, his family, and the entire world are at stake, Deadpool decides to bring his katanas back into retirement. He recruits a reluctant and wary Wolverine to not only fight for their survival, but, ultimately, their legacy.
It is also explained: “That damn irresponsible hero Deadpool will change the history of the MCU with Wolverine!?”
The film is also the protagonist Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Morena Baccarin AND Stefan Kapicic like Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen as TVA agent, Karan Soni as Dopinder and Leslie Uggam in the role of blind Al. They are united by Brianna HildebrandAND Shioli Kutsuna will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend, Yukio. Rob Delaney he will return as Peter and Jennifer Garner she will return as Elektra in the film. Henry Cavill he will also play Wolverine in the film.
Deadpool and Wolverine hits theaters July 26th!
