Civil war It looks like a fantastic film that tells a fascinating story set in the near future. It’s a disturbing vision of the United States at war with itself as the government turns against its citizens.
The film’s brief synopsis reads: “A race for the White House in a near-future America balanced on a razor’s edge.” Movie stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Jesse Plemon, Sonoya Mizuno AND Nick Offerman like the President of the United States.
Dunst plays a journalist traveling across the United States during the Second American Civil War. The story is very much influenced by the increasingly unstable political divisions we are currently seeing in the United States. A24 describes Civil War as “An adrenaline-fueled thrill ride” and Garland has previously described the film as “a sci-fi allegory for our currently polarized situation.”
