Warner Bros. Japan has released another new trailer for the crazy-looking DC anime series ISEKAI Suicide Squad. It looks like the show will take fans on a wild ride! Harley Quinn and The Joker are the main focus of the trailer, but it also features Peacemaker, Deadshot, Clayface, and King Shark in action!
This unique DC project comes from Warner Bros. Japan LLC and WIT Studio (Spy x Family, ranking of the kings). The synopsis of the series reads:
In the crime-ridden city of Gotham, Amanda Waller, the head of ARGUS, has assembled a group of notorious criminals for a mission: Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark. These DC supervillains are sent to an otherworldly realm connected to this world through a gate. It’s a world of swords and magic where orcs rampage and dragons rule the skies – an “ISEKAI”!
Harley and the others go on a rampage after arriving in ISEKAI but are captured by Kingdom soldiers and sent to prison. They only have 72 hours before the bomb around their neck explodes. The deadline is fast approaching. After negotiations with Queen Aldora, the condition for liberation was the conquest of the hostile imperial army. They have no choice but to throw themselves headlong into the front lines of the battle.
They run; they die. They have lost; they die. With their lives on the line, can Harley Quinn and The Suicide Squad survive in ISEKAI? Get ready for the pulse-pounding saga of the elite task force known as the “Suicide Squad” as they embark on a jaw-dropping adventure! Let’s get the party started!
ISEKAI Suicide Squad is directed by Eric Osadawith screenplays by Nagasaki rugs AND Eiji Umehara. Features character designs from Naoto Hosed and character design sketches by Akira Amano. Amano said of working on the series: “I’m a huge fan of Harley Quinn and the other characters from the Suicide Squad movie! Eri Osada’s clear vision for Harley’s design made the process smoother than expected, and I enjoyed designing her costume and muscles as I imagined her action-packed adventures in the story.
Nagasaki previously said: “Suicide Squad ISEKAI is finally announced. ISEKAI! Suicide Squad! Who ever thought of mixing these two!? But this will definitely be a dream project. Crazy villains run amok in ISEKAI! It is nothing more, nothing less, and it cannot be anything else!”
Umehara added: “What would happen if the fascinating characters of DC Comics went to another world? I am honored to be involved in a work with such a childish and simple idea. I designed a series of villains with one goal in mind; to make Harley cute! I hope you will join me in enjoying and reviving this world.”
